GREENSCREEN® SEA-TEX is Trend Product of the Year 2017/18

Scooping the Home & Trend Award 2017, the MHZ Sea-Tex roller blind has been acclaimed 'Trend Product of the Year 2017/18'. The LifeCare Initiative awarded the prize in September to the GREENSCREEN® SEA-TEX fabric made of 50 percent ocean plastic as an outstanding product from sustainable production. It won over the judges in the categories of Functionality, Product Benefits, Material Composition and Conservation of Resources.

With the GREENSCREEN® SEA-TEX trend card, MHZ has since 2017 been offering a sustainable fabric for roller and panel blinds that consists of 50 percent ocean plastic.

Plastic waste washed up on beaches is collected for its production and processed at local recycling companies into homogeneous granulate. From that a yarn is then produced that is made of 100 percent recycled ocean plastic. In a weaving mill this yarn is then woven into the fabric as weft.

MHZ is thus addressing with GREENSCREEN® SEA-TEX a contemporary issue and offering its customers a high-quality product in terms of sustainable construction as well. Especially in aiming at the overall home/life concept, it is thus possible here to combine tailor-made, functional and aesthetic screening from the sun with the feeling of doing something good for the world of tomorrow.
