High-quality vertical blinds from MHZ
What is a vertical blind?
The vertical blind is characterised by its vertical fabric lengths, which are discreetly and aesthetically connected to each other and attached to a rail. MHZ vertical blinds can be turned and positioned at virtually any angle, in order to individually control the amount of daylight and sunlight coming in.
Whether it be on large glass facades, doors, rooflights, special shapes or as room partitions for residential and commercial use: MHZ vertical blinds can be used in a wide range of applications to provide privacy and sun protection.

Vertical blinds are mainly used in commercial premises. However, these custom-made blinds can also be a real eye-catcher in a home setting. The slats, which hang vertically side by side, can be individually adjusted to regulate the amount of light coming into the room. Because they are so easy to adjust, custom vertical blinds are the perfect choice for modern room partitions, for example in offices or home office spaces.
Modern vertical blinds are available in many different designs with a variety of motifs and colours – from translucent to opaque.

How do I clean and care for my vertical blind properly?
The correct way to clean your vertical blind depends on the fabric used. We generally distinguish between dry and wet cleaning:
Dry cleaning
Light dust is best removed with a soft clothes brush or a dry, clean fabric. This method is particularly suitable for light soiling and regular care.
Wet cleaning
For heavier soiling, you can carefully rub the fabric with a slightly damp fabric or sponge and a little mild detergent. Proceed gently so as not to damage the fabric structure.
Tip: If you are unsure, please contact the MHZ specialist retailer from whom you purchased your roller blind. Alternatively, you can send us an enquiry using the contact form. Please quote the fabric number so that we can provide you with the best possible support.

Uses and functions of vertical blinds

Custom vertical blinds provide optimum privacy and sun protection thanks to their flexibility. Depending on the position of the sun, the slats can be adjusted to prevent incident sunlight entering the room, but without darkening the room at the same time.

Slat systems are ideal for glare protection, e.g. for computer workstations in the office or study. The slats can be finely adjusted so that the amount of light coming in can be set with millimetre precision.

Custom vertical blinds are extremely flexible and can be infinitely adjusted to dim-out rooms. When the slats are completely closed, direct sunlight no longer enters the room. The degree of deflection depends on the transparency level of the fabric as well as the distances between the slat system and the window.

Made-to-measure slat curtains as room partitions offer many advantages over other options such as partitions or curtains. They are suspended from a head rail fixed to the ceiling. Thanks to weighting plates incorporated into the bottom of the slat fabric, no additional fixation points or rails are required on the floor.
MHZ patterns – for special light effects in the room

MHZ vertical blinds are synonymous with modern interior design, high-quality fabrics and accentuating your own unique style. The diverse range of colours, various decors, high-quality textile weaves and several transparency levels – from translucent to opaque – offer creative design options even within a single blind.
You can choose from different slat widths to design the blind according to your own personal taste and needs, and to match your home’s interior. The custom MHZ vertical blinds are available in three slat widths: 89 mm, 127 mm and 250 mm.

Types of installation and operating options for vertical blinds
The custom slats can be mounted on the wall or ceiling. They can be fitted in front of or inside the window recess. For special architectural requirements, the rails can be curved vertically or horizontally.
The slat systems can be closed and turned via a chain – or a draw rod, or combination of the two – or via a cord. The operating elements can be fitted to the left or right of the blind, as desired. Convenient operation by remote control is also possible thanks to the electric drive. For smart home enthusiasts, we offer various options for controlling and automating the slat system using a smartphone, tablet or voice assistant.

Special properties for special requirements

Damp locations such as kitchens and bathrooms require special vertical blinds that are moisture-repellent and resistant to mould. The slats are made of special materials and are very durable.

Particularly in hygienically sensitive areas such as hospitals and care facilities, it is important that surfaces can be cleaned and disinfected regularly. Slats with antibacterial properties prevent the growth of bacteria and viruses on their surface, helping to maintain a hygienic environment.

Rooms such as offices or conference halls need good acoustics. Vertical blinds with sound-insulating properties help to reduce noise and create a pleasant atmosphere. These blinds are made of thick material that absorbs sound waves and minimises background noise in the room.

In public buildings such as schools and hospitals, safety is an important factor. Flame-retardant vertical blinds are an excellent choice for such buildings as they help minimise the risk of fire. These blinds are made of special materials that are flame-retardant and thus offer the highest level of safety.
Cleaning and washing vertical blinds
Cleaning the slats regularly can extend the service life of vertical blinds. Depending on the fabric, vertical blinds can be washed in a washing machine or by hand. Please refer to the care instructions supplied to find out whether your slat fabric is suitable for machine washing. If you no longer have these documents to hand, please contact your specialist retailer.
To clean, the slat chains must be unclipped and the weighting plates pushed out of the slats at the bottom. Then unhook the slats from the hooks at the top. Roll up as many as 10 slats at a time, loosely and without bending. Depending on the care instructions, the rolled slats can be washed either by hand or in the washing machine.
Cleaning by hand washing
Leave the rolled slats to soak in a warm mild detergent solution of approx. 30°C for 10–15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly afterwards. Please do not spin or wring. Allow the slats to drip dry and clip them back into the slat hooks while still damp. Make sure that the fronts of the weighting plates are arranged uniformly in one direction.
If you have any questions, your specialist retailer will be happy to help you.
Cleaning with the washing machine
Place the rolled slats in a curtain washing net. Wash on a delicate wash cycle at 30°C with a mild detergent. Please do not spin or wring. Allow the slats to drip dry and clip them back into the slat hooks while still damp. Make sure that the fronts of the weighting plates are arranged uniformly in one direction.
Insert the weighting plates and refit the slat chains. Use the operating mechanism to draw the blind together into a package and, if necessary, place a bowl under the package to catch any drips of water. Allow to dry with the window open. Iron if necessary.
